Who we are

This case study is based on the work we carried out during 2002 for HEAnet. We would like to take this opportunity to thank HEAnet letting us publish this work and more importantly being brave enough to let us implement the policies outlined in this discussion.

Colm MacCárthaigh

Currently employed by HEAnet, in the Managed Network Services Group, Colm is taking time out from a Degree in Applied Physics at D.C.U. Colm has previously been employed by Conduit P.L.C. and is a founding director of Cliste ltd., a Linux and Open-Source Consultancy with a number of contracts in the Dublin Area.

An active member of ILUG and SAGE-IE, Colm also finds time to hack Apache, and maintain a few small projects.

Colin Whittaker

Currently completing his final year of a degree in Electronic Engineering at D.C.U. Colin also runs his own business providing Managed Technical Services. Current and past customers and previous employers include R.T.É., Unison, European PGA Tour, R.J. Goffs & Co. P.L.C., HEAnet and Trilogy.tv.
