You are welcome to sign up for a Drupal account but many features (mail account, mailing list subscription(s), access to certain content, etc.) will only be made available to you after you upgrade.
Your username must be in firstname.surname format or you will be denied access. We don't ask for much information figuring the best way to keep information secure is not to collect it in the first place, but we do expect that what we do ask for is accurate.
